Setting Up WP Job Manager Geolocation
Before You Begin
WP Job Manager Geolocation adds geocoding, proximity search, maps, and other location features to WP Job Manager. Before configuring it, make sure that:
- WP Job Manager 2.0 or newer is installed and active.
- The correct WP Job Manager Geolocation package is installed and active.
- Your Google Maps Browser and Server API keys are configured. See Generating Google Maps API Keys.
- Your plugin license is active so the installed package can receive eligible updates and support. See Installation and License Activation.
Accessing the Settings
Job-listing settings are available at:
Dashboard → Job Listings → Settings → Geolocation
The Job Listings Geolocation panel contains the General, Search & Map, Single Job Page, Tools, and License tabs.
If you use the Pro package with the separate WP Job Manager Resume Manager extension, resume settings are available at:
Dashboard → Resumes → Settings → Geolocation
The Resume Geolocation panel contains its own General, Search & Map, Single Resume Page, and Tools tabs. Site-wide Google key, country, language, and license controls remain in the Job Listings settings.
Settings Tabs
General
Configure the Browser API key, review and test the Server API key supplied through WP Job Manager, select the default country and language, and control address autocomplete for job submissions. Pro installations also provide separate autocomplete controls for resumes.
Search & Map
Control the geolocation search fields, locator behavior, radius choices, units, ordering, results map, marker appearance, clustering, and distance display. Job and resume searches have separate settings. Proximity search can be used with or without a results map.

Single Job Page and Single Resume Page
Choose whether the map appears at the top or bottom of a single listing, configure its size and map type, and control its marker, zoom, preview, and gesture behavior.

Tools
Scan existing jobs or resumes for missing indexed locations. After an upgrade from version 2.x, the Job Listings Tools tab also provides the one-time Location Upgrade runner for completing the migration of legacy location records.

License
Enter and activate the license assigned to the installed package, or manage an active license. The License tab appears in the Job Listings Geolocation settings and applies to the plugin installation.

Starter and Pro
- Starter includes geolocation features for WP Job Manager job listings.
- Pro includes all job-listing features and adds integrations for resumes and job alerts. Resume features require the separate WP Job Manager Resume Manager extension, and alert features require the separate WP Job Manager Job Alerts extension.
The installed package determines which components are included. Activating a license enables eligible updates and support for that package; it does not turn a Starter build into Pro.
Recommended Setup Order
- Configure and restrict the required Google Maps API keys.
- Activate the license for the package you installed.
- Review the General settings and test address autocomplete on an actual submission form.
- Configure Search & Map behavior for your jobs page and, when applicable, your resumes page.
- Configure the map shown on single job and resume pages.
- If upgrading from version 2.x, allow the location migration to finish or complete it from the Tools tab before relying on full search results.
Most sites can begin with the defaults and adjust individual options after verifying a job submission, a location search, and a single-listing map.
