Installation and License Activation

Requirements

WP Job Manager Geolocation requires:

  • WordPress 6.5 or newer.
  • PHP 7.4 or newer.
  • WP Job Manager 2.0 or newer.
  • A Google Cloud project with billing and the required Google Maps services enabled.
  • An active WP Job Manager Geolocation license for eligible updates and support.

The plugin already includes its compatible WPGeo Framework runtime. You do not need to install a separate framework plugin.

Choose the correct package

Version availability: Install Starter or Pro only when the stable 3.0 package is offered in your account or WordPress updater. If the available download is still 2.3.3, wait for the stable update rather than installing a beta or release-candidate build on production.

Starter

Starter provides the core geolocation features for WP Job Manager job listings on one website.

Pro

Pro includes the job-listing features plus the Resume Manager and Job Alerts integrations.

Important: Pro does not include WP Job Manager’s own extensions. Resume features require the separately installed Resume Manager extension version 2.0 or newer. Alert features require the separately installed Job Alerts extension version 3.0 or newer.

The installed package determines which feature modules are present. Activating a Pro license against a Starter ZIP does not add the Pro files; install the Pro package when moving from Starter to Pro.

Install the plugin

Install a downloaded ZIP

  1. Download the correct Starter or Pro ZIP from your account.
  2. In WordPress, go to Plugins → Add New Plugin → Upload Plugin.
  3. Select the ZIP and click Install Now.
  4. When installation finishes, click Activate Plugin.

If you are replacing an older version, create a complete database and file backup first. For an upgrade from 2.3.3, follow the 2.3.3 to 3.0 Upgrade Guide before changing the production site.

Install from a connected WPGeo account

If your WordPress site is connected to your WPGeo account, open the WPGeo dashboard, locate WP Job Manager Geolocation under Plugins, choose the package available to your account, and install it. Review the package label before confirming: Starter and Pro contain different feature modules.

Activate the license

Open Job Listings → Settings → Geolocation → License.

Connected-account activation

  1. Select Connect your WPGeo account if the site is not connected yet.
  2. Complete the account connection and return to the License tab.
  3. If more than one compatible license is available, select the license for this site.
  4. Click Activate License.

Only licenses compatible with the installed package are offered. If no compatible license appears, confirm whether the site has the Starter or Pro package installed.

Manual license activation

  1. Copy the license key from your purchase account.
  2. Paste it into the License Key field.
  3. Click Verify Key.

An active license displays its status and details on the License tab. Use Refresh license when the account was renewed or its activation details changed. Removing or deactivating a license does not change the installed Starter or Pro package files.

After installation

  1. Configure the Browser and Server API keys.
  2. Review Job Listings → Settings → Geolocation → General.
  3. Configure Search & Map and Single Job Page.
  4. If this is an upgrade, open Job Listings → Settings → Geolocation → Tools and confirm that the one-time location migration completes.
  5. Clear site, page, object, and CDN caches before testing the public listings page.
