Starter vs Pro Packages
Overview
WP Job Manager Geolocation is available in two focused packages: Starter and Pro. Both packages provide the complete geolocation workflow for WP Job Manager job listings. Pro adds integrations for resumes and job alerts.
The packages are separate plugin builds. The files installed on the site determine which feature modules are available; activating a different license does not add modules that are missing from the installed ZIP.
Features in both packages
Starter and Pro both include the following features for Jobs:
- Google-powered address autocomplete on administrator and front-end job forms.
- Location-aware job searches with address, current-location, radius, units, and ordering controls.
- Distance display and ordering by proximity.
- An optional results map with markers and marker clustering.
- Automatic maps on individual job pages.
- Dedicated Geo Form Fields, Results Map, Single Job Map, and Mashup Map shortcodes.
- Location migration and missing-location repair tools.
- Connected-account and manual license activation.
Starter
Starter is intended for a job board that needs geolocation for WP Job Manager job listings only.
- Site allowance: one website.
- Content supported: Jobs.
- Not included: Resume Manager and Job Alerts geolocation integrations.
Choose Starter when the site does not use location-aware resumes or location-based job alerts.
Pro
Pro includes every Jobs feature in Starter and adds:
- Resume submission and administrator address autocomplete.
- Resume proximity search, results maps, single-resume maps, and Resume shortcodes.
- Migration from the former standalone Resume Manager Geolocation extension.
- Location-aware Job Alerts with configurable radius, units, autocomplete, and email tags.
Pro is available for 1, 3, or 20 websites.
Required WP Job Manager extensions
Important: Pro provides the geolocation integrations; it does not include WP Job Manager’s own extensions.
- Resume features require the separately installed WP Job Manager Resume Manager extension version 2.0 or newer.
- Alert features require the separately installed WP Job Manager Job Alerts extension version 3.0 or newer.
The Pro integration loads only when its corresponding WP Job Manager extension is active.
Switching packages
A Starter license does not turn a Pro installation into Starter, and a Pro license does not add Pro files to a Starter installation. When switching packages:
- Create complete file and database backups.
- Download or install the correct package from the connected WPGeo account or purchase account.
- Replace the existing plugin with the new package.
- Open Job Listings → Settings → Geolocation → License and activate a compatible license.
- Clear page, object, host, and CDN caches.
- Verify job searches, maps, and any Pro integrations.
Moving from Starter to Pro preserves the Jobs configuration. Configure and verify the Resume Manager and Job Alerts integrations separately.
Which package should I choose?
- Choose Starter for one site that needs geolocation only for job listings.
- Choose Pro when the site needs Resume Manager or Job Alerts geolocation, or when the license must cover 3 or 20 sites.
