WP Job Manager Geolocation 3.0.0

September 22, 2026

Version 3.0 is a major rebuild that introduces focused Starter and Pro packages, an embedded WPGeo Framework runtime, reorganized settings and licensing, and a batched migration from the legacy location table into WPGeo location storage.

Important: Create a complete file and database backup and test the upgrade on staging. Read Upgrading WP Job Manager Geolocation from 2.3.3 to 3.0 and the 3.0 release overview before changing a production site.

Begin only when the stable 3.0 package is offered in your account or WordPress updater. If the available download is still 2.3.3, wait rather than installing a beta or release-candidate build on production.

  • New: Introduced Starter and Pro packages. Starter provides job-listing geolocation for one website. Pro adds Resume Manager and Job Alerts integrations and is available for 1, 3, or 20 websites.
  • Important: Pro integrations require the corresponding WP Job Manager extensions. Resume features require WP Job Manager Resume Manager 2.0 or newer; alert features require WP Job Manager Job Alerts 3.0 or newer.
  • New: Added package-aware loading so each installation loads only the modules included in its Starter or Pro build.
  • Enhancement: Rebuilt the plugin around the embedded WPGeo Framework. A separate framework plugin is not required.
  • Enhancement: Added Jobs and Pro Resumes geolocation workflows for address autocomplete, proximity filtering and ordering, distance display, results maps, single-listing maps, and mashup maps.
  • Enhancement: Added dedicated geolocation shortcodes for form fields, results maps, single maps, and mashup maps for Jobs and, in Pro, Resumes.
  • Enhancement: Added the WPGeo dashboard and connected-account workflows for reviewing licenses and installing eligible packages.
  • Enhancement: Moved license management into a dedicated License settings tab. A license enables eligible updates and support for the installed package; it does not convert a Starter build into Pro.
  • Migration: Added idempotent migration of legacy license data and Jobs and Resumes settings.
  • Migration: Added a bounded, retry-safe migration that copies legacy places_locator rows into WPGeo location storage, including rows without a matching post, while leaving the legacy table unchanged.
  • Admin: Added Tools tabs for scanning Jobs and Pro Resumes for missing indexed locations.
  • Admin: Added a Jobs Tools progress runner for the one-time location migration and an administrator notice that disappears when migration completes.
  • Compatibility: Retained compatibility handling for legacy geolocation settings, hooks, and shortcode prefixes while documenting the current wpjmgeo_mode interface.
  • Compatibility: Integrated the former standalone Resume Manager Geolocation functionality into Pro and added a notice advising administrators to remove the deprecated standalone extension after verifying Pro.
  • Fix: Restored server-rendered Jobs and Pro Resumes geolocation searches when filters are submitted as hidden fields.
  • Fix: Scoped geolocation SQL hooks to the intended query and added reliable cleanup to prevent changes from leaking into unrelated queries.
  • Fix: Registered Pro Job Alerts form assets early enough to support block themes.
  • Security: Required administrator capability and a valid nonce before saving grouped WP Job Manager Geolocation settings.
  • Dependency: Requires and bundles WPGeo Framework 1.0.0-rc6.
  • Various reliability, interface, migration, documentation, and packaging improvements.

  • New: Added administrator notifications preparing existing installations for the forthcoming 3.0 release.
